Goodvalley Ukraine is a Ukrainian agricultural company owned by Danish investors. The company was founded in 2004. At the beginning, the investors bought an old farm near the town of Kalush in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, and restored it according to European standards. Goodvalley Ukraine was one of the first companies in Ukraine to breed well-developed pigs with a high growth rate.

The agricultural company “Goodwelly Ukraine” includes 7 modern pig farms, a cowshed, an elevator and a biogas plant. The enterprise’s land bank is 19,000 ha. The biogas plant began operating in 2014, and the plant reached full capacity in 2016. Biogas is produced by “Goodwelly Ukraine” from pig production waste, cowshed waste and corn silage. Since 2015, the plant has provided electricity and thermal energy to 7 of its pig farms.

Task

In 2021, the customer planned to conduct an efficiency analysis and possible modernization of the energy center with replacement of cogeneration equipment and correction of the thermal circuit. The customer identified the reliability of the cogeneration equipment for the production of “green” electricity as an important aspect of the modernization.

Outcome

In February 2022, at the “Goodwell Ukraine” enterprise, in the city of Kalush, KTS Engineering specialists dismantled another manufacturer’s cogeneration unit with an electrical capacity of 1,166 kW, and delivered a new Jenbacher JMS 416 GS-B.L. cogeneration unit with an electrical capacity of 1 202 kW.

In connection with the beginning of the war, the installation of equipment was suspended and continued in April, in the process of which the ventilation system of the room was replaced, the heating circuit and the boiler-utilizer of exhaust gases were modernized (bypass binding with automatic valves). In May 2022, the equipment was commissioned and a 10-year long-term service contract was signed.
