The ICL compressor is a centrifugal compressor driven by a high-speed motor in a common sealed housing with a motor. This configuration eliminates leakage and on average prevents methane emissions of up to 40,000 m3 per year. The gearless drive and the use of magnetic bearings eliminate the need for lubrication (savings of up to 5000 litres of oil in 5 years of operation). The variable frequency drive (VFD) allows speed control at maximum efficiency over the entire operating range, which reduces energy consumption.


ICL integrated compressors with medium voltage asynchronous motor can operate from 1 to 15 MW. "Full size" ICL is a very compact configuration that is 60% smaller than typical electric motor compressor variants. The "mini" ICL variant is a solution for loads under 1 MW using low voltage permanent magnet motors. It is a smart low-pressure solution for flare gas gathering, gas production and micro LNG.


Through the use of a variable speed drive, the ICL integrated compressors guarantee smooth operation over a wide load range with a rated speed of 35% to 105%. This allows the compression ratio and flow rate to be adjusted. The compressor can reach full capacity from standstill in less than 3 minutes. ICL compressors are an ideal solution for cost optimisation. Their simple design reduces installation time and the absence of friction and wear parts enables up to 10 years of maintenance-free operation with clean gas.
